Fall sports recap: October 29, 2025

The Bobcats are charging into the second half of the season with momentum across their fall sports programs, and the story lines are stacking up nicely.

Men’s Soccer: The Bobcats currently stand at 14-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in conference play, putting them firmly in playoff contention. The offense has been firing on all cylinders behind Matt Reed, who leads the team with 15 goals and 5 assists, and Braden Buchanan, who’s added 8 goals and 6 assists. Defensively, the back line has been rock solid, allowing less than 1.2 goals per game while maintaining four clean sheets in their last six matches.

Women’s Soccer: The Lady Bobcats have pieced together a strong campaign with a 10-4-2 overall record and 7-3-1 in conference play, positioning themselves for a postseason push. Fueling this gritty campaign is leading scorer Sherline King, who has posted 15 goals and 6 assists so far this season. Midfielder Jordan Robinson has been the creative engine in attack, helping drive a unit that’s scored 31 goals (2.2 per game) and produced 21 assists. In goal, Sara Kate Jefcoat has tallied 67 saves while anchoring a defense that’s allowing just 1.4 goals per game.
Next Game: vs Pearl River at home, Oct. 31 @ 6 p.m.

Volleyball: Arguably the most dominant team this fall, the Bobcat volleyball squad holds a stellar 27-4 overall record and 15-1 conference mark, sitting at the top of the MACCC standings. Offensively, Harmony Jackson continues to shine, notching 19 kills with only 1 error in a recent five-set thriller, while Izzi Barnes and setter Mamie Fromdahl have been the catalysts keeping the offense balanced. On defense, their back-row coverage and blocking have shut down opponents consistently, helping Jones win 10 of its last 11 matches.
Next Game: Region 23 Semifinals at home Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.

Football: On the gridiron, the Bobcats sit at 4-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Despite a few tough losses, they’ve shown flashes of dominance,  averaging 28.4 points per game and more than 370 yards of offense per contest. Running back Ky’Yon Harris leads the way with 557 yards on 100 carries (5.6 avg) and 9 touchdowns, while quarterback Jevarion Glover has thrown for 1,128 yards and 5 TDs, adding dual-threat capability on the ground. Defensively, Delarrius Hayes has racked up 45 tackles, 8 TFL, and 2 sacks, and Arterus Moffett has contributed 38 tackles and 2 interceptions in the secondary. The Bobcats are battling to finish strong and stay in postseason contention.
Next Game: vs. Pearl River Community College Wildcats — Oct. 30 @ 7 p.m.

Across all four programs, the Bobcats are showing signs of depth, leadership and the ability to win in big moments. With the right momentum and a little bit of luck, this portion of the season could prove pivotal for multiple teams. Stay tuned, Bobcat Nation, this is shaping up to be one for the books.
