Balancing mental health and academic responsibilities can be challenging, but at Jones College, students are offered counseling services to provide them with the extra support they may need.
Counselor Sarah Jones strives to help students navigate the stressors of life while providing guidance. She emphasizes an approach that allows students to develop the skills they need to cope as well as the resilience to thrive in both their academic success and mental health. She wants all students to know that they have the power to take control of their mental health.
“That’s my passion,” she said, “to care for students, to help them sometime in their journey in life. You hold the key to your mental health.”
All students are eligible for up to six counseling sessions per semester with no cost. In certain cases, students may be eligible for additional services. Jones College counseling is strictly confidential in regards to student sessions. Like therapy sessions anywhere, all information shared by students is kept private unless required to be disclosed by law or due to the risk of harm.
The counseling office at Jones is located at the Administration building on the first floor. Counselor Sarah Jones can be reached at sarah.jones@jcjc.edu.
